Although Oakstone Academy middle/high school is small, we are committed to promoting sports opportunities for our students. Besides allowing pre-approved outside physical education credits, there are funds to reimburse fees for some of our high school students participating on community sports teams. Oakstone Academy is taking advantage of our continued population growth to participate in a wide range of area sports teams and leagues.

Team sports are a wonderful tool for teaching life lessons that go beyond the actual game.  Teamwork, cooperation, building friendships, handling disappointment appropriately, and belonging to a group of peers working towards a common goal are a few of the benefits of team sports. Team sports offer another opportunity for students to see our staff model Oakstone Academy character concepts and demonstrate respect, honesty, responsibility, and kindness. Through organizational team sports our students have the opportunity to practice these characteristics with their teammates, as well as the members of the teams they play. Along with demonstrating these character concepts, our students will learn cooperation and tolerance while developing confidence and a competitiveness that can be used in many positive ways!

Oakstone Academy Tigers – Our Teams

Oakstone Academy is a member of a league for small private schools in the central Ohio area called COIL (Central Ohio Independent League). Oakstone Academy currently offers team sports in:

  • Boys Basketball
  • Girls Volleyball
  • Boys Baseball
  • Boys and Girls Bowling
  • Boys and Girls Track and Field
  • Boys and Girls Soccer
  • Boys and Girls Tennis

For schedules and other information about team sports see the Oakstone Academy Sports Website. Go Tigers!

In addition, Oakstone students also participate in a dodgeball league through Bexley Parks and Recreation. Although often thought of as only a playground pastime, competitive dodgeball is a fast game requiring speed, agility, and intellectual strategizing. It highlights the importance of working as a team because winning or losing comes down to each individual team member and who is left standing.

Students and parents can contact our athletic director, Jimmy Ratliff at 614-306-5682 for more information.
